Khonds Uprising
  1. Khonds belong to hilly tracts extending from Odisha to the Srikakulam and Visakhapatnam districts of Andhra Pradesh.
  2. They revolted against the suppression of human sacrifice (their ritual), new taxes, and the entry of zamindars into their areas.
  3. Chakra Bisoi, a young raja, led the Khonds who were joined by the Ghumsar, Kalahandi and other tribes.
  4. With Chakra Bisoi’s disappearance, the uprising came to an end.
