1. Rigid control exercised by the British resident on the Maratha chief.
2. Baji Rao II declared war against the British East India Company and attacked the British Residency at Poona. But he was defeated by Lord Hastings.
3. The post of Peshwa was abolished and Baji Rao II was pensioned off to Kanpur.
