Third Anglo-Mysore War
1. In 1790, Tipu Sultan attacked Travancore which was an ally of the English. 
2. Cornwallis declared war against Tipu and captured Travancore in 1791 by defeating Tipu Sultan.
3. Tipu Sultan was defeated by the joint army of the British + the Nizam + the Marathas.
4. Treaty of Seringapatam was signed in 1792 according to which Tipu agreed to surrender half of his territories.
